All kinds of activities and protection reflex in the hand or upper extremities are the most exposed organ to burn injuries in burn accidents. Almost all of the burn cases have more or less burn injuries to the hands and arms. Burns are very common in the hands and arms used to get rid of burns or extinguish flames. The most common reason is the use of hands for defense and protection.
Approximately 90 percent of patients with burns have burned hands or arms. About 40 percent of all burn wounds are found in the hand and forearm. In almost all cases of large burns, the hand and arm are in the burned areas. Although it is frequently seen in industrial accidents, hand burns can be seen due to many etiology. While adult hand burns are often caused by flame burns or electric shocks, scald burns with hot fluids are more common in children.
